The Daily Audrey: Girl's Got Jokes

We are having a ridiculously good time with our new Flip camera! Audrey however, is having an even better time in her swing:

Alex and I knock ourselves out performing funny faces, witty jokes, and original skits for Miss Miller, but nothing quite gets the Audrey smile machine activated like the wild antics of her swing's mobile. The turtle is chasing the whale! The whale is chasing the fish! And if that don't beat all, the fish is chasing the turtle! Ha, ha, ha! Oh, stop! You're too funny!

The Daily Audrey: Tummy Time Live! (guest blog)

No time to talk, as we're heading down to Fairfield for the afternoon to scout out some potential new neighborhoods and score some BBQ. I just wanted to post the most recent video of Audrey doing her best crying baby impression. I picked up a flip cam, which is pretty awesome. I'm also beginning to experiment with iMovie, so expect some "Pops" Miller joints in the future.

Until then, thanks for reading.

The Daily Audrey: Hey, baby. Nice boots!

At five days:

And today at 65 days:

(In both pictures Audrey is wearing the same outfit.  Due to Audrey's rotund waistline, I wasn't able to button the cardigan).

Pre-Audrey's arrival, I only purchased a few clothing items.  Oh, but what items of impracticality they were!  It made perfect sense to me that a five day old baby would wear a cardigan.  I also bought Audrey a lovely wool pea coat with matching fur-lined boots (size 0-3 mo).  What was I thinking?  Babies wear pajamas, or at least, that's pretty much all my baby wears.  Yet my baby also owns a rather expensive pair of motorcycle boots (size 3-6 mo).  Did I mention she also has a pair of yoga pants?

I blame this on the BabyGap for taking shameless advantage of a vulnerable mom-to-be's desire to give her daughter all the shoes/happiness the world can offer.  Gap, you can't fool me any longer!  As soon as I get Audrey your amazing skinny jeans for newborns we're done.

At least, until the summer collection hits stores.

The Daily Audrey: Dissertating

Me and Audrey "working" on my dissertation:

With Audrey's help, I'll definitely have this thing finished by the time she's in graduate school.  (That way, she can get some sort of internship credit).

The Daily Audrey: Two Months!

Today was Audrey's two-month check up.  This appointment involves shots.  This photo was taken before her appointment.  Clearly, she has no idea what awaits.

She started to get a little suspicious at the doctor's office:

The shots went over terribly; Audrey isn't the only one tearing up:

She passed out in the car.  (Notice the cute hat and mittens made special by Grandma Sterud).

And she spent the rest of the evening bemoaning the afternoon's events, which meant Alex and I took turns trying to appease her wrath by endlessly bouncing on the yoga ball:

In related news, Audrey weighed in at 13 lbs, 11 ounces, which is literally off the weight chart.  The baby likes to grow!

The Week in Review (at least, since Monday)

Cute things of late:

Maybe because I'm only getting up at night with Audrey A LOT these days, as opposed to the previous CONSTANTLY, I have been able to gather my wits about me enough to get Audrey dressed in clothes other than pajamas:

The bizarrely warm (for January) weather has also propelled us outside everyday:

Another day dressed!  For those of you wondering, the t-shirt is by American Apparel and the pants are BabyGap.  Because that's how my baby rolls . . .

Alex introduced Audrey to the literary pleasures of James Bond.  Clearly, an age and gender appropriate choice . . .

Audrey has another awesome outfit on today, but she is swaddled and snuggled at the moment.  But don't fret, more cute pics to come!

The Daily Audrey: Frustrated!

I just spent 20 minutes trying to upload photos.  As if to mock my frustration, this is the only photo that would upload:

The Daily Audrey: Good Day Sunshine

A beautiful day in New Haven today and so warm Audrey didn't have to wear her snowsuit.

Ma and Pa Miller finally got to re-enact cute couple with baby fantasy by strolling downtown with our little bundle and getting some much needed brunch.  But low 40's still requires some serious layers, including Audrey new mittens, made-to-order by Grandma Sterud.

Coffees to go completed our urbanite fantasy:

The Daily Audrey: Er, Yesterday's Daily Audrey

My faithful audience may have noticed by now that I take terrible pictures.  I keep meaning to download an internet tutorial on Not Taking Terrible Photos or something, but I've never gotten around to it.  So I take dozens of pictures of Audrey and only a few turn out passable.  If, by chance, more than one person is in the picture, my chance at photographer folly multiplies exponentially.  And this is why there are very few pictures of Audrey with her dad, a sad state of affairs I tried to remedy last night.

Chancing upon this cuteness last night, I quickly grabbed the camera and got this shot.  Not bad, as far as it goes:

Alex decides to ham it up a bit and tells me to prepare for a dip and kiss.  This is what I take:

We tried a few more times and finally ended up with this:

Cute, I guess.  Anyways, while I have a mountain of excuses why I have not been blogging lately, excuses which may or may not make it into future blogs, one of those excuses is that I take crappy photos and now that Audrey has developed into an extra-large wiggle worm, the photos are just not turning out that well.  But I'll work on it.  Eventually.

Call Me Audrey

Before the bath . . .

During the bath . . .

After the bath . . .

Sharp-eyed readers may have noticed that Audrey's bath tub is in the shape of a whale.  Keeping with the whale theme, I recently began reading Moby-Dick aloud to Audrey.    Puts her right to sleep.

"I love to sail on forbidden seas, and land on barbarous coasts."
