The Daily Audrey: Oh, Crackers!

I know I  left my dear readership hanging with my last post and I know I'm probably annoying my dear readership with my excuses about how busy we've been traveling and moving and everything.  But seriously, busy, busy bees over here.  Anyways, back to the Vermont adventure we go!

Our friends Beth and Shaun joined us for the last three days.  Friday morning the womenfolk ventured off to the Vermont Teddy Bear factory, quickly followed by some local wine tasting.  Is it a coincidence that the teddy bear factory was located minutes from a winery?  I think not.

And the menfolk went fishing:

They hired a fly fishing instructor to teach them the finer points of fly fishing and to guide them to the choicest spots.  But it's all fun and games, kids, until someone gets a hook in his head.

Shaun caught the biggest fish of them all, himself.

And here is their trusty guide.  He took the hook out.  Probably not the medical professional I would have chosen . . .

As far as we know, there has been no permanent damage done.  Shawn, that brave soul, rallied enough to hit the Vermont Brewfest with the rest of us the following day.

The Rees family left us early Sunday morning and we consoled ourselves with a visit to the Shelbourne farm.

Audrey considered some goats:

And Alex milked his first cow:

The next day we drove home.  And then we went to Disneyworld.  To be continued . . .

The Daily Audrey: 2, 3, 4

The next few days in Vermont were spent taking in the local sights.  We went to the Shelbourne museum, the awesomeness of which my humble blog cannot attempt to describe.  So go to the website!

We did some shopping.

Check out our new stroller.  Its a Jeep Limited Liberty complete with iBaby sound system.

We sampled the local cuisine:

Audrey ate her first cheese plate.  The girl loves herself some Vermont goat cheese.

We swam in the warm waters of Lake Champlain.

And I took the best picture ever!

Stay tuned for more Vermont Adventures, including graphic pictures of a fish hook embedded in a head!  Yes!

The Daily Audrey: Vermont Day One

I know, I know.  The public demands to know what Audrey has been up to, and I, her trusty scribe, have failed in my duty.  But we've had a delightfully busy summer and, consequently, chronicling our adventures has gotten swept up in the dust of our figurative Airstream.

But let's catch up, shall we?  Mid-July the Miller clan set off to the wilds of Vermont for cheese and beer.  We stuffed the family into our trusty fuel-efficent (re: small) car.  This is what the back seat looked like after Audrey demanded to be entertained and I crawled into the backseat to appease my mistress:

The drive to Vermont took forever.  Morale got a little low, especially after we saw this sign:

Kilometers?!  What's wrong with these people?  Where are we?  When will we get there?

Briefly, happiness was ours as we shacked up in our new homestead.  But then Sailor decided to spice it up a bit.  Within 20 minutes of arrival, she rolled in, THEN ATE, a pile of cat poop.  This got Sailor boarded in a local kennel for the duration of the vacation.

After Sailor's departure, we were able to enjoy the simple pleasures of RV life: pastel interiors and poolside shenanigans.

Stay tuned for more Vermont adventures!
