The Daily Audrey and Bud: Let's Spin Again!

There has been a lot of spinning round these parts lately.  Audrey spins like a champ.

In typical Bud fashion, he tries to do everything big sister does:

Bud spins and spins until, as the following video will show, he just can't spin anymore.
Warning:  This video is mildly addicting.

Feeling Really Nostalgic

Audrey this time two years ago . . .

We were vacationing in Vermont.  Audrey was almost eight months old.

This is Audrey two weeks ago.

You can see the same mischievous look in her eyes . . .

The Nightly Bud

It was a crappy day dissertation-wise.  In an attempt to make up for my lack of productivity, I'm writing in bed.

Not alone, of course.  This was taken about two minutes ago.  Writing is still going slow, obviously.

The Daily Audrey Says . . . Blast Off!

Yesterday we took a day trip up to Kent, Connecticut to do a little hiking and bbq eating.  The day ended with some rather terrific traffic.  In an effort to lighten the mood, Alex pretended to throw Audrey's toe out the window.  Hindsight being what it is, clearly this was a terrible idea.  But we were hot, tired, and frustrated, all of which contributed to muddying Alex's parental vision of what consequences might ensue when a two-year old whose grip on reality includes daily questions about how to get to Ice Cream Island from the Strawberry Shortcake cartoon hears her father say he tossed her toe onto the Merritt Parkway.  Audrey was justifiably appalled.  In an attempt to appease the meltdown, we, as in me, Alex, and Liv, did a count of her toes, and then my toes, and she seemed reasonably soothed that all of her toes were still intact, or at least that after her dad had thrown one of them out the window, she was down to the "proper" amount of toes.  She then demanded we count backwards.  And then she demanded we "blast off" after counting backwards.  And then, in an unexpected move, Audrey demanded, "in Spanish!" which considering that we all think of ourselves as Smarty McSmartyPants, was rather a tricky and muddled exercise.

Anyways, here are some pictures from earlier in the day, when, presumably, Audrey was hiking with all eleven of her toes.

At The Cookhouse gettin' some love and BBQ:

This should be part of a series entitled, "Mothering and Margaritas"

I'm only including this picture because Audrey looks so goofy.

And then we were off!

Some slower than others.

Did I mention that I forgot Bud's carrier?  We had to take turns carrying that Sweaty Bundle O' Love.

Could this be when Audrey naively handed off her toe?
